Richard Jefferson on Lakers fans saying they won’t miss LeBron James when he leaves: “I’m here in LA, we got a lot of loyal deep Lakers fans, I was born in LA, I grew up a Lakers fan so I know it. But, it’s always those Kobe slash Lakers fans that are like we not going to miss him. And I’m like, you not going to miss a dude who brought a championship, keep the Lakers scoring record, like a Lakers record. Took you to a conference finals. Like, I’m sorry there was a gap between Magic, Shaq and Kobe. There was a gap between Shaq and Kobe, Kobe and Pau. There was a gap between Kobe and Pau to LeBron and AD. When Bron leaves there is going to be a gap between, it’s already it’s 2020, we in 2026 now. There is going to be another championship gap.” (Via @RoadTrippinShow)

Kendrick Perkins on Cade Cunningham injury and what that does for the Detroit Pistons: “Hopefully he comes back, like right before the playoffs start. Because we need Cade in the playoffs. We are on the verge of having one of the best playoffs, like we don’t what’s going to happen, full of superstars, guys playing at elite level. But they need him like old people need soft shoes.” (Via @RoadTrippinShow)

Andre Iguodala, and Jalen Brunson debate what makes somebody a foul baiter: Iggy: You have foul baiters who shoot 15 FTs and get they 20 but we gonna beat yall… People call SGA a foul baiter but one thing I know is if he don’t get the call, can he still get a bucket? He’s proven that to me so I don’t put him in that bucket Brunson: I just feel like these guys are getting called foul baiters, I get called one I don’t give a sh*t. These are the same players at the top of the scouting report, you’re watching film and know who you’re playing and still getting called for these fouls so at what point are you just dumb for not knowing what you’re supposed to be doing on defense? Andre Iguodala says winning isn’t the priority right now for players in the NBA: “You got 1/3 of the league tanking. You got guys who will never contribute to winning but have big numbers and then get paid. All agents do is say what your numbers are then match them to whoever gets paid high in that category so it’s like I can go average 24 because it’s not as hard as it used to be… So now it’s like why play the right way to win when you can make more money getting buckets” (Via @Roommates__Show)

Stephen A. Smith says LeBron James is absolutely phenomenal: “If you are remotely interested or associated with the world of sports and you know anything, you know about my recent history with LeBron James, I’m here to tell you right now I don’t care and neither should you. LeBron James is simply one of the most phenomenal, greatest athletes we have ever seen in our lifetime. I mean, so much so that it almost gets to a point right now that if I said something negative about him, I’d feel guilty about it. That’s how electric and incredible he’s looking.” (Via @stephenasmith)

Richard Jefferson on a fan in Houston talking trash to Luka Doncic during the game: “Some idiot, Luka misses 3 free throws in the start of the game, because you know, OG’s they kinda get warmed up. When you average 30, your first 3 or 4 shots are just warm up shots. They’re not like you trying to make it, it’s like, let me see it, let me feel how I’m feeling tonight. Some dude to the left of us, like 8 rows back. Because I was like when Luka hit the shot, at the far end he walked to half court and he was looking at him like, what the hell.” (Via @RoadTrippinShow)

Jeff Teague on Las Vegas getting a NBA team: “That’s where I would love to play, if I was playing is Vegas. That’s the greatest home court advantage besides Miami, Atlanta. It’s probably greater because soon as people touched down in Vegas, they on the tables, they’re going to be up all night. Like, it’s the greatest home court advantage you can have.” (Via @club520podcast)

Charlie Villanueva says Deandre Ayton is realizing he needs to play more like Clint Capela: “Maybe I just need to step back and be a role player, because I am playing with greatness. You have to play your role bro. You’re playing with two of maybe, I mean one is LeBron James one of the best we have ever seen. And Luka could become that. Got to play your role and I think he understands that now, it’s showing on the court, you know, the fact he changed his mindset is helping a lot. And I think it’s being contagious throughout the whole team, now the whole team is starting to understand their roles.” (Via @ToTheBaha)

Gilbert Arenas says LeBron James vs Paul Pierce was never a rivalry: “That wasn’t a rival. When was it a rival? Tell me what year. Because you know LeBron came in at 2003, right? So don’t tell me it became a rival when Paul Pierce got Kevin Garnett and all that and that’s when it became a rival. A rival mean is you and him versus each other. Not when your team gets all 10 times better and then now y’all beating on the team that’s you’re superior then because I’m pretty sure individually y’all was not rivaling him.” (Via @NoChillGilZero)

Gilbert Arenas on why great college players don’t always pan out in the NBA: “I think people think your stats really matter at the next level. Your college stats, you’re playing against other college kids and most colleges, you know, you’re not going against top tier talent, you know, in your position itself, right? You’re playing a defense that doesn’t get played at that next level. So, you can be a great guard and then the next level you’re not even a basketball player, you can be an average college player and be a NBA superstar. It’s about what is your attributes, some kids are NBA players, not college players. Some kids are college players, not NBA players.” (Via @NoChillGilZero)

James Worthy on the Lakers 7 game winning streak: “They’re playing championship caliber basketball right now. I don’t think we’ve seen that in quite some years. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen this type of basketball with the emphasis on defense…. Luka did his thing but LeBron man, it was amazing what he was able to do today and lead this team”

Jason Terry explains what life was like after LeBron dunked on him 💀 “I’ll forever go down in history like ‘you got dunked on by the king!’ Every camp, every clinic I go to in America I go and talk to kids. They don’t ask me ‘how did it feel to play 19 years and play with Dirk and win a chip?’ They say how does it feel for LeBron to dunk on you like that? What happened was I turned the ball over and got Chalmers coming at me, Bron coming down the middle, then I took my eye off LeBron for one second! I chased Chalmers and turned back around and he was already in the air. What made me jump is what I’m trynna figure out” (Via youtube.com/shorts/QgVeR9p…)
