@oanacarja I think also it correlates with realizing that not knowing the answer can be a strength and not a weakness. With not knowing you can look at the problem from a new perspective and also not be hindered from your own non complete understanding.

A topic I was talking to a friend about recently is the perceived orthogonality between the skills & preparation needed to ask the right questions versus to solve a given question. And I think there is more interplay between the two than we think.

I remember I went to the ER for my first panic attack and after they ran tests and figured it was just anxiety they sent me home with a $4,000 bill, I never paid it, never got a call about it, no impact on my credit, nothing. we gotta start calling these hospitals bluff

I love when PhD students from across the globe email me to ask me for help with their experiments. Because that is exactly what I did when I was a PhD and nobody around me knew the answer. #phd students never be shy to reach out to people you don't know! We are here to help

@PrairEMasochist @raw_em_md Yeah 100%!! Plus also the costs of taking the MCAT/ MCAT prep, applying to schools, having to fly out to interview on a whim, etc.. and that’s just for applying 😢

@PhoenixLogan @raw_em_md And why don’t we have more of them? Because a basic university education is increasingly financially unattainable for millions, even with large scholarships and loans. And it’s even harder to attain MD, especially if you’re trying to support parents/siblings/partner/kids.
