I've always had a feeling Jeff was a cool dude and there was more to the story. The rumors of Jeff leaving because he was clashing with greedy Activision execs ended up being 110% true. Making money is important but it shouldn't be sole goal when creating and maintaining a cultural phenomenon and artistic vision thats how you get soullessness and the era of no meaningful updates and content drought from 2020-2022. Hopefully the community could stop blaming Jeff for Activisions stranglehold on Blizzard which began in 2018 when Mike left.

I feel bad for Jeff and respect him, he was with Blizzard when they still had a soul before Activision stripped them of their autonomy in 2018 when Mike left and soon after that it was all about the soulless "line on chart go up" corporate Activision mentality. Jeff still created a fantastic game, its just a shame that games industry as a whole has had a corporate takeover for the most part. Money was always a factor, dont get me wrong its what makes it all possible. But when it becomes 95% of the focus or more instead of just 50% at the max.... thats how you end up with soulless slop.

@GermanStrands It isnt even the full game on that disc, if you didn't have internet when first inserting that disc you would've never been able to download the patches and actual game data from Sony servers. Modern discs are just physical DRM keys to access the full game from servers.

@1dkNamesAreHard Mari and the rebuilds are slop, crappy character development and CGI barf fight scenes alongside exposition dumps are what define the rebuilds. The only highlight is Shiro Sagisu still composed great soundtracks for that slopfest.
