in February 2022 the US promised "swift and severe" sanctions would crush Russia.. SWIFT expulsion, oil cap, frozen reserves.. three years later Russian crude moves east to China and India on a shadow fleet of 600 tankers.. the ruble stabilized.. the economy grew faster than Germany's.
the sanctions didn't fail. they rewired global trade around the dollar.
