This is why Elon is obsessed with South Africa, we currently have everything he needs but he doesn’t want to obey laws, he made a fortune bending over American politicians and wants to set the tone to do the same here starting with waving the BEE ownership required. He could just ask nicely but he had to be a dick about it. Ole boy realised half way that he can never run away from South Africa, we’re too big.😂

You’re a hypocrite @JacoKleynhans. Quick to run to the Ombudsman to plead innocence about the “white genocide” tag for farm murders, but you never correct anybody else calling it a “white genocide”, least of all your hero, Trump.

Elon Musk is eyeing SA for SpaceX launches, and it makes sense: we have high-concentration Helium reserves in the Free State and the perfect geographic location for polar orbital missions at the Denel Overberg site. 🛰️ The hurdle? He is using his SA birth to lobby for a 100% ownership waiver. While he calls the 30% BBBEE rule "anti-white" the reality is a standoff over equity. He really want SpaceX to operste in SA 🇿🇦🚀 #SpaceX #SAIndustrialPolicy #HeliumEcono my

Elon Musk will be a perpetual nightmare here in RSA. He is above the state president , above our laws, above the Constitution and above us. He has no time for any Constitutional democracy. All of our laws comply with the Constitution and Rlon Mustk must respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court. As of April 2026, Elon Musk has intensified calls for the United States to impose severe sanctions on South Africa, primarily targeting the country's Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) policies and political leadership. The friction between Musk and the South African government centers on several key issues: Starlink Licensing Dispute: Musk alleges that South Africa is "openly racist" because Starlink has been denied an operating license for failing to meet the 30% local ownership requirement for historically disadvantaged groups. He claims he was even offered opportunities to "bribe" his way into a license, which he says he refused on principle. Political Clashes: Musk has called for international sanctions against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, whom he labeled a "genocidal maniac" following controversial remarks made by Malema. Influence in Washington: Following the return of Donald Trump to the White House in 2025, Musk—who served as a senior advisor—has been accused by critics, including the EFF, of using his influence to manipulate U.S. foreign policy against South Africa. Wider Economic Measures: Beyond Musk's specific calls, the U.S. administration has already imposed 30% reciprocal tariffs on South African goods as part of its "America First" strategy. There are also active legislative efforts, such as the US-South Africa Bilateral Relations Review Act, which could lead to targeted sanctions against ANC officials over the country's ties to Russia, China, and Iran. The South African government, led by President Cyril Ramaphosa, has dismissed Musk's claims as "lies," maintaining that over 600 U.S. companies successfully operate in the country by following existing transformation laws.

Some of reason Elon wants Spylink in South Africa
SA Knowledge Hub@SayEntrepreneur

Did you know? 🇿🇦💎 South Africa isn’t just mining gold—it’s mining "Liquid Helium." 🎈 Most global helium is found at 0.1% concentration. But @RenergenSA’s Virginia, Free State project has hit 12%—some of the highest concentrations ever recorded on Earth! 🌍 Now, SA is one of only 8 nations in the world supplying this critical element for MRIs, SpaceX rockets, and AI chips. 🚀💻 South Africa is currently the 8th largest producer in the world. The Secret? A 2-billion-year-old asteroid impact (Vredefort) created a perfect "trap" for helium produced by decaying uranium.

🚨 FRAUD CONTEXT: What happened is: Elon Musk signed a real contract to buy Twitter for $54 per share. Later, when it got too expensive for him, he tweeted “the deal is on hold” and said 20% of users were fake bots (even though Twitter said it was only about 5%) 🤣 The stock price crashed right away of course. Normal people who sold their shares lost money they should have made. A jury looked at the evidence and said: “Those tweets tricked investors andElon is responsible.” But he still paid the full $54 later. It was just a trick to try and get a cheaper price, and everyday investors paid the price.

Elon Musk committed fraud here. That is why we cannot trust him with his Starlink business in South Africa. He will manipulate the market to crush his competitors in SA

If 5,000 rural schools getting high speed internet for FREE is nothing, then what is the government's something? Because right now, the only thing moving is the talent and investment leaving South Africa for markets that actually want to compete. SA Government says mobile operators are doing more, but those same operators are charging the very people who can't afford bread. Starlink is offering a R500 million bypass to that poverty trap.
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

NEWS: Senior Government Members Lie About Starlink in South Africa Parliamentary chair Khusela Diko claims Starlink’s FREE high-speed internet for 5,000 rural schools “brings nothing to the table” and “won’t move the needle an inch.” The Truth: Starlink is putting up R500 million of its own cash for zero-cost kits, lightning-fast internet, and full maintenance, forever.
This connects 2.4 million rural kids in deep countryside areas where cables and towers can’t reach. Kids get online classes, free learning videos, homework help, and real skills for the future. Teachers access better resources. Entire villages finally join the digital world, boosting education, jobs, and hope where it’s needed most. @elonmusk is stepping up with real help for free while politicians downplay it. Stop the lies — approve Starlink NOW!
