So Honored! GRIT SQUAD — Dante Glynos & Chris Rinaldi In district tournament wrestling, there's no style points and no tomorrow. Finish top three and you're moving on to regions. Everyone else is done. More often than not, the seeds hold. The math says the favorites advance. History says the bracket behaves. This weekend, two locals ignored the math. Of the 55 area wrestlers who qualified for regions, only two entered as No. 5 seeds - Chris Rinaldi of Ridge Red Devils and Dante Glynos of Watchung Hills Warriors - and both walked out with top-three finishes. Rinaldi, a sophomore, opened by knocking off the No. 4 seed in the quarters, then beat the No. 2 seed in the third-place bout to punch his ticket. No spotlight matches. No easy draws. Just backs against the bracket and answers on the mat. Seeds are projections. Grit is proof. Your playing days will eventually end. But the grit you build? That stays with you forever. @RedDevsFootball
