The Seagull Has Landed
@Red__Tim
Gaming, cycling (when I can) socialist. Increasingly clichéd northerner (he/him)

Shameful the left has shied away from talking about these heinous grooming gangs. Tied itself in knots with whataboutery & ignoring that children were abused while institutions turned their backs.

I honestly tweeted this as a joke to wind up fasho-tankies, and it's been doing so for the past 5 years - but as Labour takes drastic action to protect workers at Scunthorpe from sabotage by the Chinese Communist Party, I think it's apposite today 💥🚩✊

And might I observe Mr President sir what a marvellous and shiny boot this is

I can't find a single Democrat in office that has condemned the escalating attacks on Tesla

Jeremy Corbyn must decide. Does he back the UK standing with Ukraine against Russian aggression, or does he align with Trump's isolationist appeasement of Putin? There is no sitting on the fence.

🚨 NEW: The Government is considering each of the following in a 'radical overhaul' of the benefits system - Stricter eligibility for Personal Independence Payments (PIP), particularly for mental health conditions like anxiety and depression - Requring claimants to provide routine medical evidence instead of an assessment for PIP - Requring the long-term sick to look for work with a reduction in sickness benefit payments to encourage this - Abolishing the 'Limited Capability for Work or Work-Related Activity' (LCWRA) category, potentially cutting £5,000 per year for claimants - Scrapping the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) and aligning with PIP assessments - Shifting from regular PIP payments to one-off payments or means-testing - Introducing a 'duty to engage' with employment services, including job preparation and training Vouchers for specific equipment or aids instead of cash payments have been ruled out [@thetimes]

This is a delicate moment. It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge. Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety. It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on edge. In this moment, all sides should give one another a bit of grace, perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath. This is a new beginning. Let’s hope for healing and work toward unity in the months and years ahead.

🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer says he has 'the balls' to reduce Britain's benefits bill, despite opposition from Labour MPs “We will be ruthless with cuts if that’s what’s necessary" [@MrHarryCole]
