This was back when the sabers they used were made out of metal rods so they could swing at each other extremely hard and fast. That's one of the reasons the fight choreo doesn't look the same anymore. They use the neopixel ones now and you can't swing as fast because they'll break easily. Hayden and Ewan bent multiple sabers during their scenes, and they had someone there whose only job was to keep making sabers cause they'd go through so many. It paid off because, to this day, no one has been able to replicate the prequels' choreography. The closest has been the Acolyte. Nick Gillard was also a phenomenal fight choreographer and is responsible for all of the prequel duels. They looked like they were really fighting because they basically were. They could go at each other with zero restraints.
