@FraserFaithful @Granger4NH @Ross_Berry I disagree with the law as it is written and certainly don’t support expansion of it. The most useful tool is the body cam and the car cam, neither of which require the accused to waive their 4th or 5th amendment protections.

@Granger4NH @Ross_Berry I expressed my concerns on the floor. I’m concerned that by increasing the penalty it will encourage people to hide it more which means looking down. As a motorcycle enthusiasts, I’d rather have a chance that people see me. I haven’t seen evidence that higher penalties are better

@Ross_Berry @RepHGiasson Onto SB649. This bill increases fines on texting while driving. I don't text and drive but come on. Come on. That's my argument. Come on. I am green. Table fails. I am a red on OTP. It passes despite my vehement objections.

@JohnStephenNH I would be happy if New Hampshire never entertained a bid from Gordon-Darby or Opus Inc ever again. Filing law suit when the customer decides to end the business deal legally is petty and immoral.

2/ We voted 3-2 to support the Dept. of Safety's termination of the Gordon-Darby contract, after being assured the Department would re-issue an RFP pending decisions by the Legislature — the duly elected policy body of this state. That vote stands.

A federal judge just denied New Hampshire's motion to stay a court order that would force the state into a contract the Executive Council rejected. The Council has existed since 1679. For 350 years, no state contract moves forward without our consent. That doesn't change because a federal judge says so.

@JohnStephenNH You are 100% correct. I’m glad the house stood firm on our position.

5/ What this court has done is unprecedented. A federal judge is trying to compel a sovereign state to impose a mandatory fee on its citizens against the will of its elected officials. If this stands, no state constitutional office in America is safe from federal commandeering.

@NH_DOJ @KellyAyotte The Executive Council votes down extending the Gordon-Darby contract 3-2. The nos are Kenney, Stephens and Wheeler.

@Ross_Berry This is no longer about vehicle inspections, this is about whether New Hampshire has a sovereignty to pass laws or whether the federal government will treat New Hampshire differently than any other state

I want people to understand something about the Gordon Darby lawsuit with regard to the state auto inspection program: This is not about car inspections. That passed by a majority that included members of both caucuses. This is about whether the state has the right to make laws

The UNH police chief testified against campus carry because he thought college kids were too drunk. Steven Lee was just arrested for DUI. You can’t make this up! PASS CAMPUS CARRY!
