@Ridge_Cook Got backburnered due to other things. Ran across a new video last night of a guy hacking one so it is fully variable instead of the normal 2 speeds - just what I want. Looking into that.

@AppalachianPro1 Not listening to the music but this is so typical and familiar. So many towns abandoned one the coal runs out.

Dante, Virginia, is as fine an example as you’ll ever see of a coal town from yesteryear. Once exploding with people and activity, things have gotten a lot quieter over time as coal mining has faded. Still plenty of people and hollers there though so it keeps on trucking.

@GuitarG71647302 They do resonate surprisingly well. But the older Gretsch Duo Jet is essentially a hollow body without f holes so plays well non amplified.

There was very little traffic on the roads, so I made it home and back pretty quickly. Since I've been playing it so much lately, and I really love it, I grabbed Blackie and brought it back with me. I'll get some playing in before I turn in on my air mattress. 😆 🤘🏼

@GuitarBassDrumG @Rum_Race I have a Gib SG Faded. Got it used a few yrs ago and the prices are still decent. no binding. No PU cover. Sounds and plays great. My current fave. I wouldn't pay the prices for a LP or ES, even used, when Epi are making very nice ones.

@Rum_Race Yeah that's a nice guitar for sure and a good price. I'm always Epiphone first. Someday I'm sure I will own a Gibson, probably a gold top or an old ES 339, but by then I will probably be too old to enjoy it

Sweetwater, I love ya. My go-to for guitars. Gibson, I respect your history. But both y'all straight-up crazy as fuck if you think I'm buying a *reissue* 1 pickup guitar, with maybe $150 of raw materials and $50 of labor into it, for $4,000⁉️ Take away a zero & "maybe"

Here's a new arrival at my local vintage guitar shop. Although not in the same league as a '59 Les Paul or early 60s Stratocaster, it's a cool guitar I hadn't heard of. 1993 "Cyclone." Since it has a def So-Cal vibe, I thought my friend @miradasurfs would dig it. #FenderFriday

@kevindotcar @SentimentalStr4 With you. Playing close to the bridge or wide sweeps would be hitting the toggle. Have same problem with Strat.

@Ramedog61 @ernieball I've seen same on Slinkys bought in local pawn shop. Limited area choices so I went with them. Thought it might have been just old, old stock.

I put a new set of @ernieball Slinky’s from a package of three on my Les Paul the other day and noticed that the G, B and high E strings had rust areas on them. Brand new out of the package! I’ve played them for 30 years and never had this happen. Bums me out. Can you see it?

@GetMyGuitars Shape- 1/2 Marauder, 1/2 ES. Cut out for strings interesting but does it do anything for sustain? And what's with that Fenderesque neck pickup? Will have to see/play in person for further judgement.
