I don't get the Mixtape discourse.
Games can be deep gameplay, small cinematic experience with one button, easy, hard, whatever.
Categorizing what should be interactivity is just shrinking the variety.
Play Elden Ring or Firewatch. It's cool in their own ways.

I’m losing my mind with the absolute state of "gaming discourse" right now.
There is literally nothing "woke" about Mixtape. If you actually look at the game for more than two seconds, it’s a pure, nostalgic love letter to being a teenager, skating, and the music that shaped us. It’s about as universal as a story gets.
But of course, the usual circle of grifters is out here inventing a complete fantasy narrative just to farm engagement and stir up fake outrage. They aren't even playing the games they’re yelling about anymore; they’re just lying to your face because rage-bait pays the bills.
It’s exhausting. Stop falling for the grift and just look at the actual game. I'm begging you.

Paid reviews discourse in 2026 if you don’t laugh you shit yourself and die.
The problem with IGN isn’t “paid reviews”and it never was.. the problem is that you have a group of 35+ reviewers with wildly different tastes all represented as one “face” of a highly influential company.
It isn’t weird for a group of 35 people to have one who isn’t sold by Mouse PI & then one who LOVES Mixtape, the problem is how from the outside people just see one face (IGN itself) rating every game under one banner, which provides wildly inconsistent record of reviews that then always provide viral tweets as people just laugh at the inconsistency rather than do any research or critical thinking into how those conclusions come to fruition.
