@RobCelletti This the theory that Miller should have picked up the trailing 3rd man on that play?

K’Andre Miller’s game fell apart the last couple of weeks and he was up and down all year. I’m not giving up on him, but next season is year 4. He should be away from Trouba next season, and it’ll be his second in Laviolette’s system. Gotta see consistently good 5v5 metrics.

Lots and lots and lots of people calling for Brady Tkachuk and I gotta say… that’s a great idea.

You probably need to make 1-2 decisions that will shock people, most of all the team itself. It’s exactly what Florida did when they acquired Tkachuk. Florida’s identity completely follows from that move. Easier said than done, but that’s what it will take.

On about 4 hours of sleep, here are my #NYR post-mortem thoughts… Things I genuinely feel good about: -Igor (no elaboration needed) -Laviolette - feels like the right coach for this group -Lafreniere - has arrived and has a game that translates to the playoffs

@waitsfan2 You need multiple “star” centers to win a cup. Trocheck is one of them, but I think it’s fair to say Zibanejad isn’t.

@RobCelletti Valiquette mentioned a while ago he was beaten over the glove more than any goalie to that point. So when Forsling and Bennett did (tho with perfect shots), I can’t help thinking that. I think Schneider and Miller are on the cusp.

@LGM698624 That is very much not his system. It’s low event hockey but “dump and change” only happens when you spend 45+ seconds chasing in your own end, and are too tired to go play offense afterwards. They want to get the puck out quicker, they just can’t with this personnel.

@RobCelletti A huge part of the 5v5 issue is Laviolette’s system. Dump and change instead of holding while changing and the worst is the keeping 2 players outside of the ozone 95% of the time. Most of the IF a defenseman goes in a forward will be in the neutral zone w/ the other defenseman

@JVTNYR94 Gus Forsling was claimed off waivers. There are always guys out there.

I love Lindy but I agree with @RobCelletti if you want to make some kind of change it’s prob moving Lindy for something else. Ideally Trouba and Gus are gone as well and you build the defense around 23, 79, 4 and 6. Not sure who the 5, 6 and 7D are though. #NYR

@MattCalamia @RLuker12 Bob makes $10M a year. It’s gonna be at least that.
