To say this was one of the toughest weeks I can remember would be an understatement. Watching one of the best friends you've ever had get buried is hard. It hurts. It will for a long time too. Having a post-funeral party at the house yesterday with so many family and friends was beautiful and therapeutic. He was celebrated like he deserved to be, and I have no doubt that's what he would've wanted. For me anyway, I feel like the hard part is coming. It's wonderful when everyone comes together to support each other, but then it's back to regular life and that can be hard. I'm gonna struggle as the time goes on and the parties, gathering and events happen without my friend. I'm going to miss him terribly and there'll be a void in my life that can't be filled. At the same time, life marches on and we shouldn't rob ourselves of enjoying it the best we possibly can. I'm taking this Sunday to mourn my close friend and brother, and then I'll wake up on Monday and know the show must go on. Like literally, as I've missed several podcasts the past few weeks. To every single person who has reached out this week in any way-----most of you not even knowing him , it truly means the world to me and helped me get through a rough time. Through the pain came a sense of togetherness. People had my back. To end what will be the final time I tweet about this, I'd like to make a suggestion. When you're around the people that make you happy, let them know it. Tell them. Take out that phone and grab some silly selfies. Someday the memories is all you'll have. Make the most of every opportunity.
