This video cracks me up. It's Mrs. Holden acting out a Louis C.K. stand up routine about being a math teacher. Source: @mrsholden101/video/7021286580509904175" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">tiktok.com/@mrsholden101/…

As educators rethink next year- If all we come up with is passing out diagnostic tests to quantify learning loss and then track kids into groups for remediation, it will be a terrible failure of imagination.

When grades are solely a reflection of the quality of evidence (not points accumulated) then there is only 1 answer to the question, "How do I get a higher grade?" It's simple. You have to demonstrate the learning at a more sophisticated level. #ATAssessment #GFIO #sblchat

A1. The pandemic has shown a light on education practices that were always problematic. Especially, but not only, in grading. For example, trying to put effort into the grade. #elmagchat

Grade 5 classes were doing a read aloud and wanted to continue online, so they just emailed the author and she contacted her publisher. In one day they had permission to legally record themselves doing the read aloud. The world is out there to support us. We just need to ask!

A2: One challenge I've been hearing a lot is about how to "replicate" classroom assessments; stop! It can't be replicated. The silver lining may be a collective rethink on what learning is meaningful and what evidence truly matters #ATAssessment
