Raw cheese without rennet is not that chewy.
Valerie Anne Smith@ValerieAnne1970

You think you're just eating "cheese"? Think again. 90% of the American cheese on store shelves right now is made with a lab-engineered fake rennet called FPC — fermentation-produced chymosin. And it was originally developed and patented by Pfizer in 1990. Yeah, *that* Pfizer. Here's how they did it: They took the gene for chymosin (the key clotting enzyme from a calf's stomach), spliced it into Aspergillus Niger — black mold — using CRISPR gene-editing tech, then let the mold ferment in giant vats like some dystopian bio-reactor. The result? A synthetic enzyme that's cheaper, faster, and more consistent than the real thing. Big Food loved it. No more baby calves. No supply limits. Just endless, uniform cheese bricks rolling off the line. FDA called it "substantially equivalent" to real rennet and gave it GRAS status with zero long-term human safety studies — just a 90-day rat trial. Sound familiar? The worst part? This stuff isn't even listed properly. On ingredient labels it hides behind vague wording: - "enzymes" - "microbial enzymes" - "vegetarian rennet" - or just plain "rennet" And here's where it gets insidious: Plenty of people are getting bloating, digestive distress, skin issues, or straight-up allergic reactions after eating cheese... and they blame "dairy." But a growing number are realizing it's not the milk — it's the A. Niger residue or the GM process itself triggering the problem. Real animal rennet? That's the traditional calf-stomach enzyme our ancestors used for thousands of years. It works with your body. No hidden mold genes. Want the real stuff? How to actually avoid this garbage: - Look for labels that specifically say "animal rennet" or "calf rennet" - Skip anything that says "microbial," "vegetarian," or just "enzymes" - Buy European imports, artisanal, or raw-milk cheeses (they still use the old-school stuff) - Certified Organic or Non-GMO Project Verified is safer (many ban FPC outright) - Best move: find a local cheesemaker who tells you exactly what they use They turned one of the oldest, most nutrient-dense foods on earth into another ultra-processed Franken-food and hoped you'd never notice. Stop eating their science experiment. Your gut (and your ancestors) will thank you.

In 2016 Norway gave every 5-year-old child an iPad. Within a few years, Norway's reading scores plummeted and dropped below the OECD average. They ranked dead last out of 65 countries. Now Norway is spending millions of dollars to reverse this trend and get people reading.

Yes, exactly, The names in Rajasthan are kept just out of the mind। Like Manju is called Manjudi, kalu is called kaliya, Karan is called Kaaniya, names are always miss pronounced derogatory way। Nomenclature in Rajasthan is very disrespect ful।
Nalin Mehta@nalinmehta

No more ‘Tinku’, ‘Chhotu’, ‘Bablu’ or ‘Shaitaan’…. Rajasthan government launches scheme - Sarthak Naam Abhiyaan- to CORRECT ‘ inappropriate’ names. Only the Indian bureaucracy could draw up such a govt scheme of 3000 acceptable names. Acceptable names include ‘Akbar’, ‘Birbal’, ‘Vrindavan’. Amazing report in @htTweets today. By the way, Major Shaitan Singh, Paramveer Chakra winner and hero of Rezang La would have had to change his name if this scheme had been in existence then…..

It's logical from the political POV and equation.BJP 1st came into the power in the year 1989,Under the Prime minister ship of VP Singh ji,it helped in enactment of prevention of atrocities against SC/SC Act,implemented Mandal commission and Conferred Bharat Ratna to baba Saheb।
Nyaksha@AstuteNyaksha

Genuinely curious, why is #AmbedkarJayanti now being turned into such a grand, State-backed spectacle, with over-enthusiastic participation of the BJP Govt? Even if one acknowledges the contributions of Ambedkar, India's history is filled with way more impactful figures than Ambedkar. Yet, their anniversaries rarely receive this level of Govt backed amplification and political spotlight from the Govt. So what exactly has changed now? Did Modi Govt suddenly discover something "exceptional" about Ambedkar that no one really knows yet? Or Is this less about historical recognition and more about present-day political optics for appeasing specific voter bases?

Exactly, culling is the right word। The most interesting word is "gargoyels" was so fascinated by these on old buildings, and most interesting was it's spelling, lost in time, the exact word got forgotten। Recently read it somewhere। Garg+Goyel ,made easy।
Dr. Mrunal Patel (Ph.D.)@Mrunal_Patel

I feel "euthanasia" is not the right English word in this context. Bcoz, Hippo doesn't want 'इच्छामृत्यु' (death by choice). appropriate word would be "culling". IndianExpress should hire better interns/editors.

Every economy needs to get protected from the tragedy of the commons. When it belongs to no one,no one cares।
Handre@Handre

Vietnam's doi moi reforms after 1986 turned one of the world's poorest countries into a manufacturing powerhouse through one simple mechanism: recognizing property rights. The Communist Party didn't abandon socialism in theory, but they unleashed capitalism in practice by letting farmers own their land and entrepreneurs keep their profits. The numbers tell the story Mises and Rothbard predicted. GDP per capita jumped from $231 in 1985 to over $4,000 today. Poverty rates collapsed from 70% to under 2%. Rice production doubled within a decade once farmers could sell their harvests at market prices instead of delivering quotas to state warehouses. When you own something, you take care of it. When the state owns everything, everyone starves. The transformation happened fastest in agriculture, where doi moi dissolved collective farms and returned land-use rights to individual families. Suddenly Vietnamese farmers started working 12-hour days instead of pretending to work for the collective. They invested in better seeds, irrigation, and equipment because they captured the returns. Production exploded because human action responds to incentives, not revolutionary slogans. Manufacturing followed the same pattern. Foreign companies flooded in once Vietnam allowed private ownership of factories and guaranteed profit repatriation. Nike, Samsung, and Intel didn't build plants in Vietnam because they loved Ho Chi Minh's ideology. They came because property rights meant they could actually own their investments and keep their earnings. The Party calls it "socialist-oriented market economy" to save face, but markets don't care about your labels—they care about whether you can own, buy, sell, and profit without bureaucrats stealing everything.

#AryabhataJayanti
