The season started very dry in NE Sask, but late moisture and cooler temps have aided crop development. AAC Starbuck VB, always a strong CWRS performer and the new AAC Stoughton VB, a very high yielding HRS wheat from #SECAN

@mattgallowaycbc I attended Second City comedy in Toronto. During an improve set where the asked for a major event prompt from the audience, I threw out colonoscopy. The 20 something comedians had no relatable context that an older comedian would have. It was hilarious.

@loopholefarms @wanyeburkett I remember getting a call from stats Canada during a difficult harvest asking about hours worked in the last week. I told him 138 hrs this past week. It took him about 5 sec to respond with “are you serious?!?” He called back every 4 weeks for the next 6 months. Grain dryers 😡.

@wanyeburkett Easily done in many different professions. Between seeding, spraying and harvest seasons in farming. Can rack up 10-14 weeks of 80-120+ hour work weeks. Harvest season being the worst, and not uncommon to do 4 weeks in a row of 120+ hour weeks.

Rogued the plot yesterday. Noticeably shorter than Starbuck even. Very little leaf disease and heads look very thick. I’m optimistic!

New AAC Neville oats. We’ve been looking for a short-straw, high yielding , high beta glucan oat - we may have found it! Yellow hull but white groat.
