St. Paul Public Library has 7 part-time cultural liaisons and is looking to expand program. Hindi Abdi volunteered as tutor while at St. Kate’s. For families “it just shifted the environment. We’re able to be on the front lines, introduce ourselves and help them right away.”

The Minnesota Opera on Monday announced the commissioning of a new work based on the award-winning memoir "The Song Poet" by St. Paul writer Kao Kalia Yang. Yang said it's the first time a Hmong story will be presented as an opera. mprnews.org/story/2019/04/…
