4th grade has been in their manufacturing design unit and designed a Keychain and engineered a backscratcher that could reach scratch in the middle of their backs #kfedicoveryteam#nisdkayfranklin#nisdstemlabs
My Kinder civil engineers had a problem. They had roads with no traffic signs! They had to plan with their team, which traffic signs/lights were needed and where and then add them to their maps. #kfediscoveryteam#nisdstemlabs#kfeproud
2nd and 3rd grades ended the school year with a teamwork challenge. Some valuables fell into "storm drains" and teams had to plan and engineer a tool(s) to retrieve them. @NISDSTEMLabs#teamwork#collaboration#stem#nisdfranklines
5th graders manufactured acrylic phone stands from our @PaxPatLearning Manufacturing Production lessons. They had to choose the design, measure and mark their acrylic, and heat and bend their acrylic according to the design template @NISDSTEMLabs@NISDFranklinES#KFEDiscoveryTeam
4th grade finished their manufacturing design unit with the I Want A New Room challenge. Students had to imagine and create a floor plan of their ideal bedroom and then create the 3d model in @tinkercad 🎉 #stem#nisdstemlabs#nisdfranklines#kfediscoveryteam
My 2nd grades finished up their Structural Engineering unit by learning about cantilevers. They had the challenge to work in teams to construct the longest cantilever using the least amount of blocks. @NISDFranklinES@NISDSTEMLabs#kfediscoveryteam

My 2nd graders have been learning about structural engineering. They had the 3 Little Pig Challenge to design and build a structure that won't be blown down by the wolf (my fan). @NISDFranklinES@NISDSTEMLabs#stem#kfediscoveryteam
