Ankeny Police and Fire personnel are on scene at a personnel injury accident at St. Luke's Catholic Church. There are multiple injuries and we ask people to avoid the area so emergency units can gain access to the scene more updates will follow.

Accident with injuries: E 14th & Cleveland. Two cars involved. Medics enroute.

Vehicle accident: 19th & Cottage Grove. Two cars involved. No injuries reported.

What action do you take when a tornado nears? Put yourself in the safest place you can. If you are in any of the locations in red, seek better shelter. Find an interior room or basement in a well constructed home or business. A tornado shelter would be even safer.

If a tornado warning is issued while you are in your vehicle, your best plan of action is to drive to the closest available sturdy structure and shelter in a basement or interior room. DO NOT seek shelter under an overpass or near a tree.
