We’ve seen some questions about our age assurance update and we want to share more clarity. We know how important these changes are to our community. For the majority of adult users, we will be able to confirm your age group using information we already have. We use age prediction to determine, with high confidence, when a user is an adult. This allows many adults to access age-appropriate features without completing an explicit age check. In a minority of cases when additional confirmation is required, we offer multiple privacy-forward options through trusted partners. In the minority of cases where we cannot confirm you as an adult and you need to access age-restricted areas and settings, then you will be asked to go through additional steps. We got even more info on FABLE in a developer interview and some of the info is genuinely insane.
Here's the big highlights:
- Every single building in the game has an interior, you can enter every house.
- You can also rob any house if you wanted
- You can buy every house and every business in the game
- "Fable is fairytale, not fantasy" guided the entire look and tone of the game, a principal they found in an old document left in Lionhead studios archives
- All NPCs are handcrafted, no procedural generation was used.
- All NPC personalities and daily schedules were handcrafted as well, 1,000 NPCs all named, voiced and designed to be unique.
- You can get divorced/married
- The reputation system is more involved than previous Fable games, an action could satisfy one NPC but make another hate you.
- The reputation system also doesn't impact the entire map, what you do in one town won't suddenly be known in another city across the map.
- The world is smaller than what you'd get in a Forza game as it is built for much slower exploration (no supercars here, just horses)
- Density of content was prioritized over sheer size, which allowed them to ensure every building and interior is detailed and handcrafted
- Fable runs on ForzaTech, the same engine used for obviously, the Forza series.
- A ton of work had to go into making sure ForzaTech can handle things as basic as cinematics and questing, but it is the engine they prefer to use and decided to invest into.
- There is no dog companion, they didn't have enough time for it but they are not ruling it out as something they can do in the sequel
- This game is a real passion project from Playground Games, it's been in development since 2016/2017 to some level and the entire team was built from Fable fans
- The developers are happy they are releasing on PS5, their wish is always to have as many people play their games as possible.
- They are not talking about the story yet, and have refused to confirm whether or not the original trilogy is canon
Fable is releasing Autumn 2026 and has quickly become one of my most anticipated games of the year, Just insane how this went from "oh cool, another action RPG" to actual GOTY potential material in just one showcase!

In 2022, Kazuki Takahashi — the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! — drowned off the coast of Okinawa while trying to save a woman, her child, and a U.S. soldier who were trapped in a violent rip current. Witnesses watched him jump into six-foot waves and swim toward the struggling swimmers as the water twisted into a whirlpool. The soldier ultimately pulled the victims to safety, but Takahashi was overtaken by the current and vanished beneath the surf. His body was found two days later still in snorkeling gear, and investigators confirmed he died during the rescue attempt.
