As the Select Syndicate grows faster than expected and we engage with more of the world’s top-performing companies, one trait consistently stands out: breakout companies are unapologetically bold.
When raising capital, there’s a delicate balance between boldness and pragmatism. But one thing has become clear: the best companies don’t shy away from bold. They lean into it—especially when the data supports it.
We’ve taken this into account as we evolve our own investor materials. One of our strongest slides was originally titled: “Unique Value Creates Unbreakable Customer Bonds.”
It’s still true—and still lives as the subtitle. It highlights how differentiated Select’s offering is, and how clearly that shows up in our retention metrics.
But we’ve now layered in a new title that draws direct comparison to a company I’ve long admired—and have been a longtime investor in. A company with legendary retention, driven by meaningful unique value. A company we now surpass in retention, based on all available third-party data.
The chart hasn’t changed. The data hasn’t changed. What’s changed is how we frame it.
In a sea of companies with great metrics and strong narratives, boldness helps you stand out.
And when paired with substance and pragmatism, investors respect bold.
