There is a mountain of evidence showing the weed killer glyphosate causes cancer. The Trump Administration is on the wrong side of this issue.
Sheryl Gay Stolberg@SherylNYT
SCOTUS will hear a case about the weedkiller glyphosate on Monday. Big MAHA protest planned. The Trump administration backs Bayer, the weedkiller's maker, reversing a position taken by Biden. Here's a great primer from @HirokoTabuchi nytimes.com/2026/04/26/cli…

Thomas Massie just sounded the alarm:
Congress is on the verge of handing Monsanto total immunity to mass poison Americans with glyphosate.
This is existential for MAHA.
“If farmers contract a form of cancer … from this chemical, if this makes it into the Farm Bill, you won’t be able to sue.”
Instead of pushing to repeal Big Pharma’s vaccine liability shield, Trump and his cronies are trying to expand immunity for even more poison.
It’s a complete betrayal of MAHA.
And it would cause vastly more harm than all of the benefits that MAHA has done combined.

Sometimes the greatest ideas can be found in the oddest places.
This is Bette Nesmith.
At 17 she married, had a baby and her husband went to war. When he returned they got a divorce and she was left to bring up her son alone.
Bette struggled to make ends meet. She got a job at Texas Bank and Trust on $300 per month. She wasn’t a great typist but she ended up becoming an executive secretary.
Yet Bette struggled with mistakes she made on the new IBM electric typewriters.
Instead of retyping the entire document she decided to correct mistakes. But first she had to get rid of the mistake.
She looked up a recipe for tempera, an old water based paint. And made some at home. She put it in an old nail varnish bottle and took it to work.
It worked. And other secretaries in the bank saw her use it and started buying it from her.
She called it Mistake Out and started marketing it in her free time from her home.
Then one day the bank found out and fired her. She changed the name to Liquid Paper, built a factory, supply chain and the rest is history.
In 1979 she sold Liquid Paper to Gillette for $47.5 million plus royalties over the next 20 years.
Just 6 months later at the age of 56 she had a stroke and died.
She left most of her fortune to her son, Michael who became famous as one of The Monkees and invested his royalties into a video music company PopClips, a predecessor to MTV.
