Bad memories: When I was in secondary school, I was extremely groggy… not DOGGY please 🤲😭 I was a chronic sleepy head, I could sleep anywhere even on water if possible My mum and siblings were always scared to leave me at home alone because nobody was sure I’d wake up to open the door 😭 Yoruba people would say: “Ori to ba ma je ìkó” 😭 (The head that will receive a knock, even if it’s on the roof, it won’t escape it 😭) One day, I came back from school tired. My mum told me to come to the shop, I said “let me go home and rest small before going …” That was how I slept from 6pm till midnight 😭 They came back past 12am knocking an shouting my name but I didn’t hear anything My mom went to the window side to poured water on me… still nothing, she then called our neighbors… see panic everywhere 😭, in that moment she was already scared and even the ppl around her.. they all thought I was dead.. After OVER ONE HOUR, I finally woke up but instead of waking up with sense… I was completely disoriented, immediately she saw me from the window, she shouted “Oluwa Seun, oya silekun!” ( thank God, open door? ) And me?? I replied my mom that was looking for toothpick to scratch her back 😭 My mum screamed from outside: “Yèpà! Iná ọmọ jó mi!” 😭 I was trying to open the door, but couldn’t even find the handle even when it was right in front of me.. I was repeating nonsense about toothpick See these people had been outside for ONE HOUR oh😭 Finally I opened the door… Omo, coordinated slap landed from my mum and my two brothers at the same time 😩 Their reason: “what if people were chasing us nko?” 😭 First, she told me to stool down. As if that wasn’t enough, a few minutes later she said: “wà kẹ́kẹ́!” ( ride bicycle😔) You know that punishment where you squat with your back against the wall and your hands stretched forward? Yes. That one. I was crying and making diff promising “Ma ra motor fun yin Mami” 😭( I will buy you a car my mummy) But she wasn’t having it I switched immediately: “I said It was a spiritual attack… take me to church for deliverance”😭 I was just saying anything that comes to my head just to escape the pain. After a while my mum slept… I thought I was free 😌 I tried to sit down My junior brother shouted: “Ẹ má jókòó o!” 😭(don’t sit down o) SAME boy I used to steal meat for 😩 “wow Wotta a family” Judas!!! 😪 That shout woke my mum again 😭 Next thing she said: “Oya shey cigar ọbọ!” (I don’t know the English 😩🤲) All I know is that you cannot do that punishment and remain the same person Omo I suffered The next day, I carried my bag and said I’m going to Badagry to find my dad 😔 Hunger humbled me… I came back the same day 😭 It took me almost one month to forgive that my brother About the car? I will still buy it 😩
