Many out there in the CGM have called into question my attitude towards Jon Rahm My POV is that he is out of touch, arrogant, and his play as of late (in real fields) calls into question his position as a Top 3-5 player in the world He certainly has immense talent and in the past has proven his ability to separate himself from fields at the highest level HOWEVER he traded his competitive viability for money and proven that he cares more about money (and his ego) than he does about (1) preparing for / winning Majors and (2) playing for the European Ryder Cup team It's a tale of wasted talent and enormous ego during a period where the value of an individual professional golfer is highly inflated Contrast his attitude relative to the bona-fide best two players in the world (Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy) and I think it's clear how much value he places in competition and legacy

CANADA’S BIGGEST DEBATE RIGHT NOW 🇨🇦 Pierre Poilievre says Canadians are being crushed by taxes, debt, housing costs, and grocery prices. Mark Carney says wages are rising faster than inflation, rents are easing, and Canada is positioned for strong growth. Both sides came loaded with numbers. Both say they’re fighting for Canadians. So I’ll ask this neutrally: Who’s telling the real story of Canada right now and who’s selling a narrative? 👀

Additional reporting after multiple conversations today with sources close to the situation: - This is not being characterized internally as a funding cutoff, but rather a transition. LIV Golf is funded through the end of the year and they were given two choices: You can shut it down now or you can ride it out through the end of the year and get outside funding. - The expectation is the league will complete the season. Any new capital is unlikely to come from Saudi Arabia’s investment arm, which has shifted priorities. - The current geopolitical environment is being used as a legal mechanism to unwind certain PIF-backed commitments — and this is not isolated to LIV Golf. - Under CEO Scott O’Neil, LIV Golf’s commercial business has shown significant signs of improvement, including the addition of new flagship sponsors. That creates a potential path to outside investment, though sources describe the process as complex. - There was a recent board-level meeting aimed at getting ahead of these developments before the news became public. Sources indicate some internal frustration with how the situation has been handled and the timing of the information becoming public. - Multiple sources also indicate that players and agents were not fully aware of the situation as it developed, setting off a scramble.

BREAKING: Sources indicate LIV is preparing to wind down operations as the Public Investment Fund (PIF) reassesses its broader strategy amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East. A recent board meeting in New York focused on the league’s near-term future, including whether to cease operations following this week’s event in Mexico City or continue through the end of the season. Importantly, this is not a reflection of LIV’s commercial performance. The league was fully funded through 2030 — this is a top-down strategic shift driven by evolving geopolitical priorities. MBS pulled the plug.

🚨😳⛳️ JUST IN — The @nytimes is reporting that high level LIV executives have begun their own personal job searches as the future of the league is now in doubt. Members of the leadership team were informed on Sunday after The Masters that they would soon “lose their positions.” LIV is reportedly desperately trying to find a way to continue forward with the prospect of no PlF investment and a smaller budget. So what happens to Rahm and Bryson if LIV shuts down? The PGA Tour made Brooks donate $5M to charity and give up PGA Tour equity. So that’s the bear minimum. Rahm also owes millions in fines to the DP World Tour. The rest of the players I see being sent to Korn Ferry or DP World Tour. As good as guys like Joaquin and Gooch are, they have zero leverage. Anthony Kim is another interesting one. He doesn’t have a clear path. This is going to be interesting!

If/when LIV Golf shuts down, it'll be the Wild West in professional golf. What happens to Rahm, DeChambeau, Hatton, Niemann, Smith, etc.? They'll want back on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour will want them back. But it won't be that simple. Some of them could've taken the Brooks Koepka deal but passed. Oops.
