Blessing of a special mosaic to mark the Golden Anniversary of St Edward’s Academy, Swadlincote. It is made of pieces designed by the pupils. Thanks to Headteacher Jayne McQuillan for the kind invitation also to preside at a Mass of Thanksgiving on the Feast of the Sacred Heart.

This week we said goodbye to Mrs McQuillan, Headteacher @StEdwardsSwad who is retiring. The school celebrated Mass along with representatives from our Trust and Diocese before everyone enjoyed afternoon tea in the school hall 🍰 Best wishes to Mrs McQuillan in her retirement ❤️

In our portrait topic this half term, Year 2 have been learning how to use different sketching pencils to create shade and tones in their drawings. We then put those skills into practise by drawing an eye. We are blown away by their new skills ✍🏻🙌🏻
