I watched a man fight himself last night.
We were at the viewing centre for Qatar vs Switzerland. Beside him sat his pregnant wife, asking question after question.
Half-time came, people stood to stretch. She turned to him, "Is the game over?"
He sighed, answered.
Minutes before that, Denis Zakaria got a yellow card. She leaned in again, "What does that mean?"
I saw his jaw tighten. But he turned, explained, calm as ever.
