23-year-old Dasaun Williams’ November 2025 arrest bodycam has been released, showing “controversial” take down made by JSO Gang Unit.
Williams is now being represented by Civil rights attorney Ben Crum.
Crump has called the force,“excessive and brutal” and demanding accountability.
Williams faces 27 felony counts, including sale or delivery of fentanyl while armed and trafficking in methamphetamine.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 22 firearms and large quantities of drugs.

His mugshot went viral after officers used a stun gun and repeatedly struck Williams while he was pinned on the ground. He has hired civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who called the footage “deeply disturbing” and demanded a full investigation into possible excessive force. The case remains under review by the State Attorney’s Office. Williams is due back in court on April 9, where he faces 27 drug-related charges. Full bodycam footage of the incident has not been released.
