I received a private message from a inner china player of love and deepspace that she wishes for me to relay, please read as it is a critical piece. toxic community of love and deepspace has a plan to change the way they bought valko, papergames, infold down, including us global players, they are turning it into a sinophobic matter, additionally, that global players are the ones who’re bullying them. My opinion to this matter: the goal to this is to want them to shut global server and china gets their server. I understand we’re getting some help from different people who has greater platform, but it is recommended that we’re careful when informing or making news who has spoken up for love and deepspace as this is being used against us. In China’s online spaces, global players are being painted loudly as insulting / disrespecting China, which is a serious accusation & commonly used against foreign brands, celebrities or content perceived as offensive to China. It is related to the following: The 辱华 (insulting China) angle: This is about actual verified drama: LADS added in-game content with a “731” test drug record (试药记录), referencing “Unit 731” ; the WWII Japanese biological warfare unit that conducted human experimentation. Players were furious that the game paired this specific number with drug-testing content, calling it tone-deaf to a real historical atrocity/national trauma. This blew up hard in late June, alongside the Aoyin/Valko backlash ; nearly 500,000 followers were lost across platforms between June 22-26, with over 40,000 people joining collective complaints on a consumer complaint platform. So, I'm gonna be straight up with this one. What this creator said is not wrong, and trust, I watched the ENTIRE video. What I believe she's calling out are the global fans being performative by acting like they've been talking about lighting issues, racism, and homophobia from the beginning, when it's clear they only started voicing it now that this Valko situation blew up. This has nothing to do with /us/ who HAVE been loud about the these issues, but the ones who are hopping in and using our issues to get us to be behind them on this weird ass "movement". Because it's true. Where was this energy when we've been talking about how black and brown players have issues with seeing their MCs in kindles? Or how we have to consistent struggles with lighting in glint photobooth as well. People made a petition to bring Valko back, but where was the petition for the demand to make Infold ensure that black and brown players feel included and seen with their MCs, and not just hard-focus on the pale skin MCs? Inflop could've done a solid by including black and brown MCs in the PVs, both livestream, and in new banners just to show that they did in fact tested out textures for POC MCs , and everyone else who are mutuals or friends with POCs could've done a solid and advocated for us each time, but it took the whole Valko situation for people to start talking about the REAL issues and the ones being performative are doing so just so they don't get called out for not being loud about it in the beginning.
