Spring arrives not in one green, but in a thousand, fresh lime, soft moss, sharp emerald unfurling across its rolling green hills and patchwork fields. Image Dry Stone Walls. Grassington / alh1/ CC BY-ND 2.0 #Spring #landscape #Yorkshire

The Flying Lizards: Money (1979). Stripped back and ironic New Wave art pop, this was an unlikely hit but it really stood out at the time. No synths used on this: the piano has lots of paper and other junk covering the strings to give it that tinny, banjo-like sound.

Australia 🇦🇺 is a fantastic country. The food is outstanding. But pancakes are not a strength. Don’t overthink it. Two pancakes. Butter. Maple syrup (preferably 🇨🇦). Bacon 🥓 . Don’t ’cafe fancify’ it. Fancified Regular

Warner Bros. spent $178 million producing Edge of Tomorrow (2014). Despite a slow start at the US box office, it became a massive global hit and cult classic, partly due to the "Live Die Repeat" rebranding for home video.

From Radio Shack. All this for a disk that can store 50 times less data than a CD! And... You’ll also need an installation kit for the low, low price of $495!

In 1916, seemingly on a whim, C.S. Lewis picked up Phantastes at a book stall in Leatherhead. This is the book that Lewis says baptized his imagination and set him on a very different path than his espoused materialism would have allowed. Without this stroke of providence, we might not have the Lewis we read today. It is also very possible that we would not have the Tolkien we read today.

Just their type: A century or more ago, women — relatives, acquaintances, assistants — typed draft upon draft of books, plays, and other works. Their work was largely unsung. An exhibition at Harvard’s Houghton Library is out to flip that script. cambridgeday.com/2026/03/11/hou…
