Some people have mental disorders. That is the only thing that keeps them alive in today’s messed-up world of online superstars showing off what they did and have (or pretend to have). For an easy-minded person whose parents failed them, such a friend is a lifesaver. I'm not such of a person but I can understand the need.

i still don't understand the attachment people have to LLMs it is a computer, not a friend. for those who missed the older models in this way, it seems many are unhappy with openai's current direction i need a research assistant, so i don't care much about that

There will be a shift. Gemini Ultra, although very good for my daily testing, building apps, etc., drops to the Pro version for me — only for capability comparisons. Claude, with the ability to control it from my phone on my computer, literally changes how you use AI. I’m adding Codex for experimentation and a MiniMax / Kimi subscription for automating low-value, simple tasks (since they include API access). Coworker, as a secretary, will prepare everything on the computer. It will create instructions in every important folder. Claude in CLI as a manager will delegate work: •Codex for building a small game, •Gemini CLI for writing books, •Kimi / GLM / MiniMax for writing test junk and simple functions in apps, •and itself for building applications and improving my business. €260 total. That’s the cost of an insanely capable employee who can build anything on my computer. Everything controlled from the phone. If someone has a working business, they shouldn’t even question whether it’s worth it. It’s an investment in an employee who doesn’t complain that it’s 2:00 AM while I’m in an Uber coming back from meeting friends and assigning new tasks that just came to mind. If it works — I’ll earn more. If not? I lose nothing, because the cost already pays for itself through administrative work. No social security, no sick leave. Openclaw can do this too — but Claude offers built-in reliability and safety. F*** yeah :)
