Anyone I know jumping on this? Foxhole is cool but I think the medieval setting might be more my cup of tea

@BecMcGee Dude 100%! It should be taught as a regular topic in schools. I know here in NSW they piloted it in a few schools but I've heard nothing about it since 🥲 Nowdays I mostly use auslan.org.au to search for individual words if I need since I'm SUPER rusty

@TCToaster Im a little baffled its not a more broadly taught language :( Id love to have learnt it growing up, but my school was like “yes italian. you need that” 💀 Ive never used a single word of italian in my life but Ive been in multiple instances AusLAN/ASL would have been useful

Had anyone learnt AusLAN/ASL before? And did you do a course or teach yourself? Id really like to do a course but they’re all fulltime and during my work hours :( Im tempted to self teach but Im not sure if thats appropriate

@BecMcGee From memory the premium course goes over finger spelling as the baseline then moves you up to words, phrases then up to whole sentences I'm the same!! I'm also partially deaf so in loud environments I'd love to switch to signing none of my friends know the language 🥲

@TCToaster Thats mostly what Im after! The basics to start with and then expand a bit after. Id like to use it for work because Ive spoken to a couple of deaf folks and I feel terrible they have to try and adapt to me when I could just learn myself to talk to them in sign
