I don’t know what Canadian tar sands is. The pipeline was set to bring 830,000 barrels of crude oil per day into the United States. It absolutely could have been used for gasoline, and diesel, along with rubber for tires, asphalt for roads, etc. It sounds like you don’t know what crude oil is
