The Gauteng Health Department says it is owed R2.6 billion by patients. Chief Finance Director Siyabonga Jikwana says this is because they're treating patients in hospitals who lack identification, adding that this leaves the department with no "legal recourse" when seeking payments from those patients. I can't get my head around this story. Don't get me wrong: this is unethical behaviour regardless of the amount. But this R500 situation is...just....haai man. R500?

♦️Must Watch♦️ “I could not find a single wrongdoing by General Khan. In fact, I stated in my own words that the SAPS owes General Khan for what he did, because he stopped police officers who had come to collect drugs under the authority of the then head of traffic routing.” Gen Mkhwanazi’s testimony at the Madlanga Commission regarding General Khan. It is for this reason that The Ad Hoc Committee had no substantive basis to call him for questioning. Insinuations that a relationship with General Khan is untoward or possibly corrupt by Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi are therefore irresponsible and inconsistent with his own testimony at the Madlanga Commission. Suggestions that he was ‘protected’ by the CIC @Julius_S_Malema are therefore based on a fallacy and are not supported by the evidence on record.
