Ready for some kick licks? It’s just a matter of keeping 8th notes going in your right hand while filling in the triplets with your kick drum. The groove I’m playing here is in a “go-go” type vibe with bass and guitars from the great @charlie_hunter ✌️

It’s a 70bpm kind of day here in LA. I decided to try layering three different kits (a mix of @xlnaudio and Logic drum designer) to come up with this groove. I also used an overabundance of paradiddle licks whilst wearing flip flops. 🩴 🤙

Looking for some new triplet licks? Here’s one that I like to use after consuming too much coffee. It’s just Right, Left, Kick worked into a groove as sextuplets. Yes, I know I’m starting to get into Dave Weckl territory, but I still haven’t bought the special drumming shoes.

My friends at @xlnaudio sent me their INDIE drum pack for Addictive Drums and I took it for a test run today. The results? I LOVE the “Large And Open” kit. On this track, I cranked up the room mics and tried my best to nail one of Steve Gadd’s signature double time licks.
