@valenlower Rather than a niche my two channels stick to a “theme” i.e gaming
Subs don’t really matter with search based stuff. My channel with 1k subs performs just as good as my 150k sub channel
Imo to rank higher you just need to have better quality and packaging than the competition

YouTube search is a heavily underrated “niche” The bar for certain search terms is very low. Hit it with the high quality video and you dominate that search term.
