As the Chairman of Pogoń Szczecin, I speak today with both pride and deep concern ahead of our upcoming match against Legia. This is a big game. It is a passionate game. It is a game that means a great deal to both teams and to many people. But it must never become something darker. It must never become an excuse for hatred, division, or violence. We are living through ugly and painful times in our world. Every single day, innocent people die in places like Ukraine, Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan, and so many other parts of this planet. So much suffering. So much loss. So much pain, often for no reason at all. That is why it would be especially heartbreaking, in these difficult days for humanity, to see the great people of Poland divided and fighting one another over football. Poland is a proud and extraordinary nation. The Polish people fought with courage, sacrifice, and resilience to reclaim their country, their independence, their freedom, and their dignity. That history is too great, too noble, and too meaningful to be dishonored by violence between fellow citizens who, in truth, share far more than they do not. Yesterday, when Poland National team lost, every Polish heart felt that pain. Because beyond club colors and rivalries, you are one people. You share the same land. You share the same flag. You share the same history. You share the same national pride. The past is the past. What happened last year, 2 years ago, or 10 years ago belongs to history. We cannot build a better future by remaining prisoners of old wounds. Football should lift us. Sport should bring us together. It should remind us of our passion, our pride, and our shared humanity. It should never tear us apart. Any act of violence would not only hurt individuals. It would hurt the great country of Poland. It would hurt the hard working citizens of Poland. It would hurt the city of Szczecin. It would hurt the reputation of this great league, Ekstraklasa. So I urge everyone in Szczecin, our supporters, our ultras, and our fans, to show the utmost respect to Legia Warszawa and to the supporters traveling to our beautiful city. Let us show Poland what true strength looks like. Let us show that passion and respect can stand side by side. And to the fans of Legia team, we welcome you. We hope you enjoy your visit to our city. We respect the energy, commitment, and loyalty you show by traveling from city to city to stand behind your great team. We ask only that you show the same respect in return. This match should be remembered for the football, for the atmosphere, for the spirit of competition, and for the dignity of both sets of supporters. Not for violence. Not for ugliness.
