But the real problem with Trump’s second term is that even when he gets it right, he gets it wrong.  Americans wanted that southern border closed to illegals. But they never asked for federal agents to scour their cities looking for migrants who slipped in years ago and have since paid their taxes and obeyed the laws.  When the brave people of Iran really needed him he was missing in action.  Americans were happy to see the back of Maduro but it never crossed their minds Trump would do a deal with the rest of the Maduro dictatorship and attempt to run Venezuela through them. So much for spreading democracy.  Americans have largely had enough of foreign adventures which is why they don’t warm to his threats to Greenland, his nastiness to Canada, his general predisposition to be not just Imperial President of the United States but Imperial Overlord of the whole Western Hemisphere.  The US labour market grows weaker by the month. They’d rather he sort that out instead of obsessing about Greenland.  For those of us who are not Americans this has been the most troubling, unsettling of times. The world as we’ve known it, the world as it’s been for the past 80 years, the world which has given humanity these past eight decades the greatest general uplift in freedom and living standards in global history — for which America deserves much credit — has come to an end. Not just on Trump’s watch but by his doing. And for no good reason. The MAGA view is that America was exploited and taken for a sucker during these 80 years while others prospered. And, yes, we in Europe did well out of American hegemony. But no country did better than America. It was by far the biggest beneficiary of the post-war world.  Now democracy is in retreat, the autocrats are on the march, emboldened by Trump’s disregard for democracy and his soft spot for the strongmen of autocracy, indeed his desire to be one himself.  We are now in a world in which Trump has pretty much exempted himself from all the rules, foreign and domestic. And acts with a sense of impunity, as Europe’s leaders are finding out the hard way.  He says the only constraint on him is his own morality. Which as guardrails go most folks will think is on the flimsy side.  As Trump’s America retires into its Western Hemisphere redoubt, all those in Britain and elsewhere who used to baulk at American power are suddenly realising that a world without America is a much more dangerous, precarious place.  But America is about to learn that a world in which America has turned its back on its allies, excoriated them, even threatened to invade, is a much more dangerous, precarious place for America too.  After the first year of Trump’s second administration we — America and its allies — are all the losers. Only our enemies are smiling — because they now think they’re winning. And they are.

My son Brady was born with a heart defect, coarctation of the descending aorta, it was discovered just hours after he was born and he had surgery at just 3 days old, he has annual check ups, and medication every day, he's a law student going into his third year, today he is 21, I can't believe it, hes come so far and is achieving so much, can I kindly ask people say happy birthday to brady please so I can show him, kind regards Adam, proud Dad.
