@PolaroidSolar But they can use ai, they can show their passion using ai I don’t even use it I’m a programmer and I taught myself but for newer devs when ai gets better I don’t see why they would learn traditionally

@TreeDevv Lol then they just cant create. Without learning the fundamentals, then youre simply creating nothing of true passion. Imagine if they cant use AI anymore. They still need to learn the basics.

@R_continuum @ptrschmdtnlsn There’s loads of ways computing power is used. Like simulations and renders and machine learning. Some software companies have a full building full of computers for just building projects the hole goes much deeper than games but any gaming rig you look at it created to play games

@ptrschmdtnlsn The challenge now is to find ways of meaningfully using all this computing power. Eye candy for games that are too complicated to play seems like a waste..been looking at high end gaming systems lately what can you do with them apart from gaming??.

The scale of modern GPU computation is so incomprehensible that I regularly find that even experts underestimate it. A 4090 can do ~150 THOUSAND fp32 ops per pixel per frame at 4k 60 Hz, and can load kilobytes for every single pixel from VRAM (and more from on-die SRAM).
