The story of white African farmers has remained a consistent reality over the years. They produce millions of tonnes of grain, massive quantities of meat and fruit, and large volumes of milk. However, botched land reforms, often racially charged and framed as justice, have resulted in farm seizures that leave behind dysfunctional land. These farms often lack the ability to replicate the results achieved by professional farmers. Ultimately, Africa bears the loss through decreased farm employment, food shortages, and a lack of economic support from what was once a highly productive sector. It is baffling and truly astounding how some people insist on doubling down on a strategy that has repeatedly failed, yielding nothing but economic ruin and proving to be completely counterproductive.

“Voetsek kwerekwere” is not protest, it’s dehumanisation. If this is about immigration, there are legal processes. When it turns into chants and hostility, something else is happening. And we can’t ignore the double standard, similar language aimed at other nationals would not be tolerated. That should concern all of us. If we still have a conscience.

Xenophobic South Africans are the stupidest people in the world. People who are themselves victims of a deeply unequal system are turning on fellow Africans instead of confronting the structural injustices that still exclude them. Attacking and killing your black brothers and sisters from foreign countries will not fix an economy whose foundations remain unequal, will not take the 70% of privately held land from white people and place it in your lazy hands. This Zimbabwean lady didn’t hold back. She told her fellow citizens scattered across the world that calling yourself “educated” while doing low-level work in other people’s countries isn’t exactly an achievement. VANDERBIJLPARK — A 75-year-old former Pinedene Primary School staff member has admitted to stealing R15.6 million from the school over seven years. Aletta Martha ‘Alta’ van Eck originally from Tel Aviv pleaded guilty in the Specialized Commercial Crimes Court on April 8 to one count of theft. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the money was siphoned from the Vanderbijlpark school’s bank accounts between January 2013 and December 2020. The NPA told the court that Van Eck has no previous convictions. Her bail was extended following the guilty plea. Magistrate requested both a correctional report and a probation officer’s report before sentencing. The matter was postponed to July 2 for pre-sentence proceedings. Van Eck first appeared in court on this case on July 4, 2025. Sentence has not yet been handed down.
