Only civilizations that have solved, or at least learned to manage, their “mistakes of Earth” will ever reach another star. The ones that don’t either collapse or stagnate in their home system, quietly becoming extinction statistics.

Interstellar expansion without FTL requires generational ships, self‑sustaining ecologies, and political stability measured in millennia. You can’t do that if you’re still fighting over borders, burning fossil fuels, or treating your home planet as a disposable launchpad.

Is the lack of FTL actually the filter that ensures only the species smart enough to fix their own planet get to touch the others

the future of mainstream local AI was never 27B models running on windows, macos or linux the future of local mainstream AI was always webgpu in a browser using <1B agent-specialized model

I hate when Codex does this: "I’m patching the WebGPU indexed-draw path so suballocated transient meshes are bound using byte offsets instead of relying on firstIndex/baseVertex. That targets exactly the Emscripten-only failure mode" Rebinding vertex buffers for each draw call instead of changing base offsets. Sure it might fix some random debug draw call, at the price of making everything slower...

Many instagram influencers are using the app to scam people by buying followers (100K+) to earn trust and then scamming people out of tickets, etc. Instagram should allow reporting people who use their profile trust to scam.

If you don't believe this is a simulation, look at how interesting things are. Everything is getting replaced by AI and soon there will be no such thing as startups because all surplus value will be eaten by AGI and competed away to zero.

@Eito_Miyamura The same tech to produce custom women/men is also likely to allow for infinite lifespan/longevity.

YC should do a startup that produces custom women/men. I think even at $50k/babe, if 10% of men on the planet go for custom babes, it’s $250 billion a year. I think many men would go for like 3 babes minimum. Wtf are those bitches doing funding LLM wrappers. Fund the HARD tech

This week in the SaaSpocalypse: → Meta planning 20%+ layoffs (~15,800 people) to fund AI infrastructure → Atlassian cut 1,600 jobs to "self-fund AI" → Oracle CEO: "AI won't kill SaaS" — stock ripped on earnings → Reuters headline: "Software companies fight back against fears AI will kill them" → $3T private credit market now pricing AI disruption into SaaS lending The term "SaaSpocalypse" is now in Reuters and financial wire headlines. What started as a thesis is becoming consensus.

Thanks to instanced meshes for the lampposts and WebGPU for light and bloom management, we can spawn a massive number of lights with zero lag and the same goes for our animated grass.

@MENAUnleashed x.com/izharalhaqq/st… I’m not sure, but I do wonder if it might be true that Saudi pushed for the war with Iran because they knew that they would benefit long term. It does also seem that Iran isn’t targeting Saudi anywhere near as much as the other Gulf states.
Izhar alhaqq@izharalhaqq

@elerrantenomad I wonder to what extent Saudi isn’t too displeased about the course of events. They may see the damage done to the UAE as an opportunity for them. They have also been targeted far less than the other Gulf states, aren’t as reliant on Hormuz as them and the price of oil is up.
