CSI Santa - part 2
New evidence found at the crime scene. A handwritten note was left by the culprit. By carrying out chromatography, we found out that it was the GRINCH who had kidnapped Santa. Santa has been found and returned safely.. just in time for Christmas 🎅🏼🎄
CSI Wick - Saving Santa
At today’s Science Club, we learned that Santa Claus has been kidnapped. Before he was taken, Santa was eating a mince pie. We tested for the ingredients of the mince pie on the clothing of 7 suspects. Who will the culprit be? We will find out next week🎄
We recently had an Astronomy day at Wick High School, the pupils made scale models of the Solar System which allowed them to visualize the relative sizes of each planet 🌌
Just like Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon Album Cover... we split white light using a glass prism to see the spectrum of colours. We then reversed this experiment and combined the spectrum of colours to get white light 🌈
Remember, remember the 5th of November... we celebrated bonfire night in Science Club this week. By using metal salts, we managed to replicate the colours in fireworks and used iron fillings to make a sparkler 🎇🎆
This week's science club... DIY Lava Lamps. A simple experiment which you can do at home using vegetable oil, water, food colouring and a vitamin C tablet.
This week.. S3 pupils moved onto a new topic in biology, the digestive system. They have been busy creating woollen models to fully grasp the scale of the digestive system.
This weeks theme for science club was... HARRY POTTER! We made a Wick High Marauders map, then used phenolphthalein (acid-base indicator) to uncover the invisible footprints on the map to find the treasure
