Some tidbits on the specifics of what my script solves
LOD Bias is controllable, -1 gives the result seen on the right, Map controller forces 1
Scalability ( little unstable, requires restart after capture to restore framerate )
Changing the color settings literally at all 😭

For the 0 people who are curious on my super new cool method of map captures, i got a script that finds where your Map Controller is and uses a scene capture to grab the map instead. Left = Epics ( based off viewport scalability ) Right - mine ( All controlled in script )

@QuantumBlue1 It sucks so much because my script proves uefn has the potential do all this stuff on its own, but creators have to bend over backwards to create a deployment system or even a decent looking map capture 😭

@WintersWorks Oh for sure, UEFN is VERY limited compared to actual UE, UEFN unfortunately doesn’t have Color Correct Regions (cmon epic) like regular UE has, So epic probably have a beefed up version of it for themselves, (little tip, have the sun coming from straight above, less dark shadows)

@QuantumBlue1 Thats a fair point. However there are other aspects of the device i believe epic needs to update/rework. Creators don’t have proper control over color grading, the captures usually fuzzy. And by default the Device forces a low LOD Bias in captures, this script resolves all that

@WintersWorks I’m pretty sure epic does that on purpose btw (no shadows and flat) so it’s easier to see which location you want to drop at

@ForsakenLok I’ll have to find out how to tell users the math to properly set up the map capture size. Biggest issue currently is the 500m capture size does not translate to the script properly, so for example if your Controllers capture size is 500m you need to set “2560” in the script.

@WintersWorks Would be super neat, map captures in UEFN have bothered me forever now, almost impossible to get them to look even slightly decent

@ForsakenLok I’ve been thinking about it but haven’t dropped it right then due to some slight caveats with aligning the scene captures rotation and the map capture size ( you basically gotta do a lot of trial and error aligning it before setting up for the final shot ) but I’m considering!

@aurafart229 It’s a map that grabs different aspects of chapters 1 and 3 and smashes them together. It remixes the lootpool and the island itself while also adding tiny twists and changes that slightly deviates this map from the original Chapter 1!
