Billionaires don’t have billions in cash sitting around to pay taxes. The wealthy hold stocks, estate and pay taxes only on income. Imagine your home is worth $300,000 and the government wants 20% tax or $60,000 because it’s paid off. If you don’t have the cash, you’re going to need to sell your home. And if everyone sells their assets to pay taxes, you’re looking at a major crash in prices.
