Also find friends who are non technical but smart and interested and explain what you are building to them in detail. The soft skills of explaining your code and the process of software development will make all the difference in your quality of life and the quality of the project

advice I would give any CS student: 1) take a gap semester. pick an actually difficult project. work on it every day. document it on twitter/ a blog. create a video demo of it 2) also use this time to grind leetcode for interviews The earlier you do this the better. doing well in your classes, doing research, applying for internships is enough to handle. above steps will take you very far but they always end up getting neglected.
