Still cannot get over yesterday’s match. In all these years following MI, I have never felt so disappointed. 2022 was a debacle, but that team was below average to a great extent. 2026 was supposed to be our 2020, yet we are heading downhill. Cannot purely blame Hardik; the team as a whole seems to miss the MI spirit. At GT it was different—he was the star in the setup while others were not so much. But MI is a different beast altogether; everyone here is a superstar, some even bigger than Hardik. Managing that requires special skill, which I have seen only a few exceptional captains pull off. Ponting, MS, and Rohit are the ones who come to mind. At this juncture, Hardik doesn’t seem to have that. At the same time, very disappointed with Hardik’s on-field calls and the management’s team selection. Seriously have low hopes for how this season is going to pan out. One way or the other, big calls have to be taken if MI are to get back to winning ways. Win or lose, one thing remains: I will always be there to support the team that has given me more to celebrate than disappoint. #MIvsPBKS

If Hardik Pandya and Mumbai Indians really want to win, they need to drop these 4 snakes together - Rohit, SKY, Tilak & Bumrah. Dropping just one won’t be enough. Bumrah should be immediately dropped. It’s been four matches and he hasn’t taken a single wicket. Today, he even dropped an easy catch of Prabhsimran. #MIvsPBKS

What a painful match to watch as an MI fan ! I won’t pin the entire blame on Hardik alone, though his batting was excruciatingly painful to watch . 1. I think we lost the match in team selection . I see no rationale in bringing chahar and continuing with thakur . These guys are constantly giving 15 per over . Aswani should have played and he wouldn have done better . 2. Hardik ahead of Rutherford . Another blunder considering Rutherford’s form 3. Hardik decision to not open with Bumrah . When he came in 2nd over , it was already 20-0 and he had to fix the damage . 4. Body language looked the worst . It’s one thing to lose , but this was humiliation . #MIvsPBKS #MumbaiIndians

If I’m being honest, MI should have never sacked Rohit. Hardik is not a bad captain, but not transitioning the captaincy smoothly was never going to work. It was a big blunder by the management.

I would go a step further and say he should be India’s white ball captain if we aspire to win more ICC trophies . Gill is a gun batsmen but we have seen so many times in the past that best batsman of the team need not necessarily be the best captain . Captaincy is about managing the resources when put under pressure and I feel Shreyas is miles ahead of the current crop in that aspect .

Will be extremely interesting to see how the selectors will keep Shreyas out of the Indian T20 team. In my opinion he should be the captain.

I understand the tears of these Dhobi and Vadapav fans. Both their dogs are injured and their teams are languishing at the bottom of the table.
