Chimpanzee clan wars have shattered the long drawn myth that only humans are capable of warfare, with all the strategic planning and brutalities. In 1974, Jane Goodall was a witness to one of the most violent clan war between chimpanzees ever documented by humans. The Gombe Chimpanzee war, which occurred in Tanzania within the Kasekela Chimpanzee community, the primary subject of Goodall's research. Death of the leader of the pack gave rise to a tussle for leadership within the pack, resulting in splintering of the group. With the separated group moving down south, and were called the Kahama community. The first attack was carried out on 7th Jan 1974, when males from Kasekela community attacked another male named Godi from Kahama, while he was feeding on a tree, they threw him to the ground and beat him to pulp and celebrated their victory. This was the first time humans ever documented when male chimpanzees were intentionally killing fellow male chimps. Moving on from Godi, Kasekela chimps attacked another chimp from the Kahama, and then the third. The to and fro attacks continued for the next four years, resulting in deaths of numerous chimpanzees from either side. The Kahama clan was decimated, the victory celebrations were short lived for Kasekela clan, as they locked horns with another clan in the region, the Kalande, and simultaneously they were attacked by the fourth clan the Mitumba clan. Both Kalande and Mitumba clan outnumbered the Kasekela clan which was already battered from their long fight against Kahama clan. Jane Goodall was shocked from whatever she witnessed during those four years, from witnessing cannibalistic infanticide among the female Chimpanzees to one chimpanzee tearing a strip of skin from another Chimpanzee's thighs. The events initially called exaggeration by other researchers, the subsequent researchs and observation cemented Gombe Chimpanzee War as one of the most prolific events in the history, which changed how humans saw other Primates.

Something is happening …. Met my liberandu friends for dinner…..they used be very vocal against Modi ji & defensive about a particular community. Their trip to Europe especially to UK & Paris is forcing them to rethink.Multiculturalism is producing insecurities in them.Have asked their kids & grandchildren to shift to Dubai. When I used to narrate the incidents happening in Europe , I was labelled as communal & brainwashed …. First time they told me that my fears were right.They feel India under Modiji is stable & Modi model they disliked earlier, is keeping India safe. Modi is communal or anti minority doesn’t stand strong today. They were endorsing Modi’s policies. I just didn’t faint ….. I was silent but dil mein laddoo phoot rahe theh….. der aaye duroost aaye. @Trendulkar But there is no relief to the public. If you were purchasing a chips packet for ₹15, then even after this tax reduction you still have to pay ₹15 for the same packet. Only the companies are getting the benefits.
