I find this press conference held by lawyer Baligod and his 18 marine clients UNPRECEDENTED and AN INSULT to the Senate as an institution. First of all, only senators hold press cons inside the Senate. That a mere civilian lawyer with his clients did so with the aid of a senator!

Bakit iyong press con pinatulan ng media knowing na hindi ito proper avenue for them to air their side? Pambabastos ito sa Senate as an institution na dinala sila ng isang senador para magpapress con knowing na may hearing involving them at the same time and in the same venue.

“Nasingit ako somewhere sa makapal na affidavit na ‘to. And then nung magbigay ng sinumpaang salaysay lalo na ‘yung lima, hindi ako binanggit. Pero pagdating nung pseudo hearing, pilit na tinatanong nung dalawang senador ‘yung tungkol sa akin at kay Senator Lacson,” he said on Monday.
“I actually sympathize with the 18 ‘ex-bodyguards’ because parang nagagamit talaga sila. Nakakaawa eh dahil later on baka sila sasalo lahat ng kabalastugan na ginawa nung nag-prepare nung joint affidavit,” Sotto added. (Screenshots/Senate)
