@slloydselby I'm so sorry @slloydselby - sending get well soon wishes. My dad was in an ambulance outside A&E for 15 hours in August. You're right, the teams are incredible, but they are battling the lack of investment.

Yesterday I spent 11 hours in A&E with my 92 year old stepmother who was rushed in with heart problems. Staff were amazing but the system is broken. They deserve better & so do we. This Govt promised an extra £35m a week for the NHS after #brexit Where is it?

This is why I love literature. One of the *many* reasons. We know this winter will be unbearable (in fact dangerous and deadly) for many. But do we really *feel* that? Do we deeply connect with that reality? Good writing inspires true empathy... 👇🏻
