Tesla has stopped production of their old shape ModelY, their best selling EV, the best selling car in the world And they’ve reconfigured their production lines to manufacture a new look ModelY, which has been redesigned from the ground up to be even better and quicker to manufacture That meant their factory in Berlin was not manufacturing any cars for 2-3weeks in Jan/Feb to reconfigure lines, then the output ramping of those lines began this week, getting number of MY produced up to full capacity, which will take 3-4 weeks During that period Tesla’s order book for new ModelY has exploded with new orders, but theyve not produced many new ModelY’s due to factory line upgrades and ramp and because Tesla is only allowed to report a car as “sold” when its delivered to the customer, sales numbers are down but orders are thru the roof March sales numbers will see a rapid climb compared with Jan/Feb and Q2 sales numbers will be thru the roof.
