@ceritheviking @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Anyway the stick to castles you suggested was right. I rarely bother with twitter anymore. It doesn’t help. Sorry! Leaving the thread.
English

@ceritheviking @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Wind is unreliable & costs a fortune-the standby costs to offset unreliability make them prohibitive without state subsidy, leading to some of the highest domestic leccy in the world, it’s just greenwash subsidies. “Greens” seem to oppose& close nuclear(shut them all in Germany?)
English

@ghostsofmerthyr @ceritheviking @Dunadan9 Wales has huge natural resources and uk has oil. Sadly unlike Norway our politicians have been peddling the modern sky is falling narrative and won’t allow access to them.
English

@cestyll @ceritheviking @Dunadan9 You need to look at how Norway did that though. It kept the money for the people. Yes, Norway has the benefit of being able to sell a major resource, but they have invested and spent that money on the people rather than on the top 1%

@ceritheviking @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Yeah! I think Norway’s model of making huge wealth from natural resources is excellent. I also like the Baltic states (Latvia Lithuania Estonia) removing hardcore socialism and becoming wealthy states also! Yes castles seems sensible!
English

@cestyll @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Not sure I’d agree with that myself. I’m far more a Scandinavian socialist model than an American capitalist supporter. Much to it all and not that simple really
Let’s stay on castles !

"National Tea Day
Where would you sip your tea?
-Castle courtyard?
-Caernarfon castle walls?
-Tintern Abbey cloisters?
-Tea time!
-Cup of tea!
-One lump or two?"

@ceritheviking @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Agreed. I think the problem is evidently socialism “tries harder” and does more economic damage, capitalism doesn’t “try at all” (doesn’t actually care) but creates wealth and opportunities. Weird really Wales keeps trying the one that doesn’t bring wealth.
English

@cestyll @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Not sure still is fair. Merthyr was an economic powerhouse when he was elected. At it’a peak.
Politics can’t (yet) solve many of the fundamental issues many places, especially those reliant on natural resources, have. Socialism tries harder than capitalism at least
English

@ceritheviking @ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Gosh, over 120 years of voting Labour and Merthyr is still a poverty stricken disaster.
Really sad.
English

@ghostsofmerthyr @Dunadan9 Not sure he was a parachute in the modern sense , especially at the founding of the party. Merthyr. South wales was the centre back then - it was the place to be.

Ogmore Castle (Castell Ogwr). Beginning as a castle of earth and wood in the early 12th century, it was quickly fortified in stone before being further strengthened with a curtain wall in the early 13th century. @cadwwales info/image turned into reconstruction mock-up.
